CEO or Operations Manager – Which are you?
I don’t know about you, but one thing I noticed is that it’s much too easy for me to get stuck in the minutiae of the day-to-day operations of my business. This is fine when you’re starting out - building, developing, and tweaking. Not so great though when you’ve found your sweet spot and are generating revenue and focused on growth. Scaling to meet your goals becomes a lot harder if you’re focusing all of your energy on doing the work instead of strategizing and optimizing.
If you want to be a millionaire or have a million-dollar business, you have to change how you operate WITHIN your business!
I’m just like you. I’m a hands-on type of person. I like to get into things. Take control. Be in the know. Own it all. By doing this, I limit the opportunities my business has. It’s limited to what only I am able to do. That’s no good. We have to change how we choose to operate within our business. We can’t be the jack of all trades and expect to grow to be a multi-million dollar business.
It is time for you to look at your business holistically and figure out what you need to do to move from Operations to CEO. Do you have processes in place? If not, create them. Do you have team members? If not, hire them. Do you have an overloaded to-do list? If so, off-load it. Time to get out of the weeds.
We need to shift from Operations Manager to CEO if we want to see the revenue and impact we dreamed of for our businesses.
